Leading Veteran Services Org. to Launch New Critical Service Programs on Veterans Day 2023

This Veterans Day, a newly emerging threat is causing more veterans to suffer than ever before. A combination of high interest rates, conflicts affecting the global economy, and skyrocketing inflation has resulted in an enormous gap between their income and the cost of basic groceries. Three quarters of GCVF’s low-income veteran clients run out of money to buy food in the third week of every month. Nine out of ten homeless and home-bound veterans who we serve don’t have transportation to get fresh food anyway, or to get to healthcare and other necessary appointments.
Thanks to our brand new partnership with Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank, we can now get fresh, healthy food for Ventura county veterans who have been unable to afford it! And now, on this Veterans Day, we’re proud to announce that the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks and Paradise Chevrolet have come forward to add a new vehicle to our all-Chevy fleet!
GCVF’s unique Mobile Veteran Outreach (MVO) program has brought compassion, care, and critical human services directly to homeless, high-risk, and home-bound veterans… very often saving a life. And now that life-saving outreach program can also bring healthy food to veterans that cannot afford to eat. See the national PR Web press release and videos linked here for more!
